Co-Founder / CEO / Program Director

Patrick Murphy MA, MFTi

Patrick Murphy has years of both personal and professional experience in the treatment of alcoholism, addiction, and mental health. Patrick began his career working at Visions Treatment Center, a prominent adolescent treatment center in Malibu, CA, after receiving his BA in Sociology from CSULB. After further experience in a variety of settings, Patrick obtained his certificate in drug and alcohol counseling (CADC-II) and went on to pursue his Masters in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University. Patrick is trained in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and has extensive experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families. Patrick is training to be a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and also has an active private practice in West LA where he provides therapy to individuals and families.

 

Patrick is directly involved with the operations of both Rise Sober Living and Rise Recovery Apartments. Patrick's passion, professional training, work experience, education and innate ability to work with people suffering from addiction, alcoholism, and mental illness ensures a high quality of care at Rise Recovery Community.

Recovery Case Managers

Corbett Miller, LCSW SEP

For more than a decade, Corbett has considered his role as a provider of mental health and substance abuse services to be an honor and a gift. As a trauma and addiction therapist at several prestigious residential and outpatient clinics, he has acquired a unique and specialized set of skills which greatly benefits the residents of the Rise Recovery Apartments. 

 
In addition to Corbett's work as a licensed clinician at high-end treatment facilities, he has also worked at Los Angeles County Jail and Locke Tech High School in Watts, California. It is this diverse work history and his own personal engagement to the recovery community of West Los Angeles that allows Corbett to connect so easily with our residents. 

​Alexander Megarit, LCSW, SEP​

Since 2009 Alex has been in the field of Social Work and healing. Alex has experience working with diverse populations and settings, including inpatient, outpatient, teens, adults, families; In non-profit organizations, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, spiritual centers, juvenile justice, and private practice. Alex’s belief is that relationship, connection and community are the building blocks for transformation and growth. He believes that the trust shared during a time of need is humbling and sacred.This is the spirit that he brings to the Rise Recovery Apartments.

 

Alex is drawn towards working within the world of trauma healing, and helping clients to break free from the bonds that trauma, loss and addiction can to lock us into. Alex focuses much of his work on treating trauma, grief and loss, substance abuse, as well as other life transitions. His aim is to help clients navigate through the world in a new way. A more complete way. An Integrated Way.
